Ellen May Anderson is a Meanjin-based artist interested in the construction and circulation of images, and the relationship between the physical art object and digital visual languages. Reference materials from open-source image banks and other sites are collected to repurpose or ‘re-stabilise’ them, salvaging them from the excesses of the digital identity circulation, to exist in a more considered relation to one another. Her work has been exhibited across multiple artist run group shows and solo exhibitions, and is held in private collections across Australia.
